For the 20th post concerning my great-grandfather’s First World War diary I have created an interactive map detailing locations relating to the entries currently digitised on the blog.
I plan to update this map concurrent to the blog, with the aim of producing a complete visualisation of where the soldiers mentioned in the diary were killed or buried depending on the availability of such information. Also included are the locations mentioned in letters sent home by soldiers of the Cheshire Regiment.
I will also be adding “Points of Interest,” such as CWGC cemeteries, monuments and battlefields in France and Belgium that I was lucky enough to visit in 2018. I’ll be adding photos of these sites to the blog and map in the near future.
